Summer Events

Get started planning for summer with annual events, activities, picnics and more. Save these family-friendly events and activities to connect as a community.

  • Palo Alto Puzzle Hunt returns with weeks of fun starting May 1. This series of puzzles are available for you and your family and friends to solve together. Each week’s puzzles will lead to a different location in Palo Alto to find clues for final answers.
  • Reservations for Group Picnic Sites at Mitchell and Rinconada Parks reopen for weekend reservations on May 1. Visit www.cityofpaloalto.org/Picnics.

 

  • Resident registration for summer activities and classes goes live on May 4 at 8:30 a.m. View the Enjoy! Activity Guide to start planning.
  • May Fete Parade and Fair: The May Fete parade and fair returns for its 99th year with the theme, “Empowering Wellness through Community” on Saturday, May 6 at 10 a.m. Follow the parade to the May Fete Fair at Heritage Park for more family fun offering games, music and more. Visit www.cityofpaloalto.org/MayFete for more and volunteer opportunities.
  • Family Movie Nights begin June 9: Upcoming showings include Paws of Fury, Lightyear, DC League of Super Pets, Minions – The Rise of Gru, Strange World, & Super Mario. 
  • Summer Hot Dog Productions: These outdoor performances are perfect for families. Upcoming showings include Snow White and Free to Be... You and Me. Food and drink are sold onsite by the Friends of the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre.
  • Twilight Concert Series: June Concerts are held at Rinconada or Mitchell Park from 6:30 – 8 p.m. A food truck will be available at each event and bands will be announced soon.
