Commercial Parking Update
University/California Avenue Parking District Enforcement Temporarily Suspended
While more restrictive County of Santa Clara health orders remain in effect, parking availability in these areas is not expected to be an issue. As businesses return to normal operations, and health orders are rescinded, permit sales and commercial restrictions will resume.
To preserve the value of your existing or expiring permit the following modifications will take place immediately:
Permit sales will be paused until further notice. When permit sales resume, customers with a permit expiring December 2020 to Spring 2021 will be contacted by City Staff with renewal instructions. Expired permits will serve as a placeholder in the next sale cycle.
Customers will be notified when enforcement will restart and have a minimum of three weeks to renew their permits.
Failure to renew within the grace period prioritizes other requesters, and late renewals may be denied.
If you have questions, please contact the Revenue Collections Department.
Please note that enforcement continues for concerns that present an immediate hazard. Restrictions for red curbs, spaces designated for persons with disabilities, and any other locations prohibited by law are always in effect.
As a City, we encourage you to stay safe and informed. We are committed to consistent communication to provide up to date and accurate information, critical to preserving the City’s standards while supporting residents, the business community, and visitors.
