Flags Flown at Half-Staff in Honor of Ruth Bader Ginsburg

The flag outside Palo Alto City Hall, the Municipal Service Center, and all City buildings and fire stations are being flown at half-staff in commemoration of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who died at the age of 87 from complications of metastatic pancreas cancer.

Ginsburg was nominated by President Bill Clinton in 1993 and was only the second woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, after Sandra Day O’Conner.

According to protocol, flags should remain at half-staff until sunset on the date of internment, the date of which has yet to be determined.
