Utilities Meter Reading Resumed June 1

Utilities Meter Reading Resumed June 1

City of Palo Alto Utilities (CPAU) meter reading activities resumed the first week of June 2020.

Earlier this year, some meter reading activities were suspended to comply with state and county Shelter-in-Place orders and to protect the health and safety of our community members and CPAU staff. With the recent easing of some of these requirements from the county, we resumed reading all customer utility meters including those in backyards or behind secured entrances.

CPAU staff will continue to practice safety and abide by social distancing protocols.

You may see CPAU meter readers accessing your premises including side and back yards to read the utility meters. They will be in CPAU uniform with brightly-colored safety vests and have city-issued identification that they can provide if requested.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Utilities Customer Service Center.
