Council Adopts 2019 Priorities

Council Adopts 2019 Priorities

The City Council adopted its priorities for 2019 at the annual Council Retreat held Saturday, Feb.2 in the Community Meeting Room at City Hall. The following priorities were unanimously chosen:

  • Climate Change
  • Grade Separation
  • Transportation
  • Fiscal Sustainability

These four priorities were chosen from a list of 11 that were submitted by council members that included pursuing a business tax, and reconstructing Cubberley Community Center.

Grade separation and transportation are both carry-overs from the 2018 Council Priorities, while climate change and fiscal sustainability are new calls for increased civic responsibility surrounding these issues.

Among the Council ideas proposed to address transportation and traffic issues were expanding the City’s shuttle program and promoting alternatives to solo driving.

The retreat kicked off with a discussion of the annual National Citizen Survey. You can find the survey results by clicking here on this link.
