Utilities Wooden Pole Inspections & Replacements Underway

Utilities Wooden Pole Inspections & Replacements Underway

About the Projects
The City of Palo Alto Utilities is working on two wooden utility pole projects this summer. Osmose Utilities Services contractors are inspecting, testing, treating, and reinforcing 800 wooden utility poles within the City of Palo Alto Utilities service area. Hot Line Construction, Inc. is replacing 63 wooden poles within the City boundaries.

The wooden pole inspection project is expected to be complete in July 2018 and the wooden pole replacement project will end in October 2018.

Contractor vehicles will be marked with "City Contractor" magnets and contractors will carry "City Contractor" badges for identification and security. Some utility poles are located behind customer properties or in backyards, requiring the contractor to enter the property. A representative of Osmose Utilities Services or Hot Line Construction, Inc. will contact customers prior to entering their backyard.
