Electric Crews Dispatched to Help Restore Power at Fire-Damaged Facilities

Palo Alto Utilities Sends Aid to Fire Victims

This week, the City of Palo Alto Utilities (CPAU) dispatched electric utility crews to the Northern California wildland fire area to help restore power where major transmission lines, power poles, power plants and generating facilities were severely damaged.

Five staff members departed Wednesday morning for Healdsburg, dispatched as part of CPAU's mutual aid agreements under the Northern California Power Agency (NCPA). They are expected to be there approximately five days, framing and setting poles to allow the restringing of electric wire.

CPAU is also awaiting delivery of another vehicle to assist with restoration efforts. Once it arrives, a second crew of three more CPAU Electric Operations staff will depart for the area.

We all thank them for their service to our greater Northern California community, and look forward to their safe return.
