Palo Alto ranks in Top 10 for Nationwide Water Conservation Challenge
Palo Alto ranks among the top ten cities for participation in the National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation! As a part of the City’s Earth Day celebrations, Mayor Yiaway Yeh joined with other mayors nationwide in asking their local residents to take part in a water-saving challenge during the month of April. Palo Alto residents responded enthusiastically to this challenge with 16,743 of them making a pledge!
Congratulations are in order for our residents---they have not only once again put Palo Alto on the national map as a leader in environmental stewardship, but will also be saving more on their utilities bills. Cities were ranked by region and population size. Among cities with population sizes ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 people, Palo Alto ranked in ninth place.
