Watt Meters at Library

Want to save on your monthly budget and help the earth?

You can now check out a Kill-A-Watt meter at City of Palo Alto Libraries.  Use this meter to find out how much electricity your appliances and equipment are actually using and how much this adds to your monthly utility bill.

Kill A Watt™ EZ plug power meters are designed to easily measure how much electricity your plug-in appliances or equipment use at home or at work. Understanding electric use and related costs can help you save energy and money. For example, most home electronics – the second highest energy consumer in a typical home – continue to draw power even when they are “off.” By simply unplugging your appliances and electronics when you are not using them, you can reduce your utilities bill.

Kill A Watt™ EZ meters are made available through the City of Palo Alto Utilities Department, as well as the Silicon Valley Energy Watch, (a partnership between the City of San José and Pacific Gas and Electric Company).
