Police Data Initiative
The Police Data Initiative promotes the use of open data to encourage joint problem solving, innovation, enhanced understanding, and accountability between communities and the law enforcement agencies that serve them.
Here at the Palo Alto Police Department, we were one of the first police departments in the United States to commit to contributing data to this important initiative in February 2018. As of August 2020, the public is now able to view three data sets from our agency: traffic citations and warnings (2016 to 2019), vehicle collisions (2016 to 2019), and calls for service data (2018 and 2019). Additional data sets may be added in the future. You can view all of these data sets here.
