Artist Statement

I am primarily a Costume Designer for Theater and Dance. I make use of skills I’ve haphazardly accrued throughout my life, which include sewing, millinery, jewelry-making, fabric collage, sculpting, fabric painting and dyeing. Costuming is a highly collaborative art form; I am always trying to support the overall vision of the director, and  I work in unison with other artists (Set Designers, Lighting Designers, dancers, etc). Together we create a transitory visual experience much like a moving painting.
