"The Butterfly Effect" comes to the Palo Alto Art Center

The Butterfly Effect: Migration is Beautiful is coming to the Palo Alto Art Center! This project was initiated by youth activists in the Bay Area to promote awareness and activism to prevent child detention. They have led the creation of more than 50,000 butterflies with a goal of creating 76,020 to represent the 76,020 children who were detained at the border last year.

You can help by creating your own paper butterflies for the Art Center’s installation! Pick up origami paper outside the front entrance of the Art Center during the month of January. Learn how to make paper butterflies here: https://butterflyeffectmigration.org/ideas-on-making-butterflies/

And drop your completed butterflies in the Art Center’s outdoor bin. See the completed installation at the Art Center starting March 2.
