For more than 30 years, Project Look has provided fun, educational, and memorable art experiences to thousands of students in Palo Alto and the surrounding area. Project Look provides well-rounded field trips that are educational and fun in a welcoming and accessible setting at a nominal fee. Highlighting the experience of seeing and making art that is central to the Art Center’s mission, Project Look combines an interactive exhibition tour led by volunteer docents with a related-hands on art activity taught by professional artist educators.
Cultural Kaleidoscope is a unique artists-in-the-schools program that links the neighboring and diverse communities of Palo Alto, East Palo Alto and Menlo Park, building bridges through the arts. By partnering two K-5 classrooms from Palo Alto Unified School District and Ravenswood School District to foster connections between students from diverse backgrounds, Cultural Kaleidoscope moves beyond traditional classroom instruction. This integrative visual arts program provides engaging cross-cultural experiences through seeing of works of art during field trips to local museums and making art as professional artists guide students in creating both individual and group projects.
