Library Advisory Commission
At Library Advisory Commission (LAC) meetings on August 22 and October 24 2019, some committee members suggested bringing the topic of dissolving the commission to the attention of the City Council. This possibility was included in the City Council LAC Study Session on December 16, 2019. At this meeting, the City Council added the LAC to their list of boards and commissions for consideration of changes. On February 24th, Mayor Fine made a motion to dissolve the LAC. The motion was seconded by Council Member Kniss and the motion passed unanimously with 7 votes. The first reading of an ordinance has been scheduled as a consent calendar item for the June 8th City Council meeting. We give our heartfelt thanks to the LAC for their many contributions to the Palo Alto library and the community.
