Contact : Maree Doden, Program Assistant    650-329-2495
Palo Alto, CA – Palo Altans and their families are invited to a creek celebration at Bol Park, next to Matadero Creek on Friday, August 23 from 4:00-5:30PM. The event kicks off a city-wide project that helps residents become aware of the beautiful and ecologically important riparian habitats that run through town. The event includes fun creek-themed activities for kids and adults, snacks, giveaways and a short talk about the creek's fascinating history provided by Barron Park historian Doug Graham. This event is part of a regional project which includes newly installed signage at San Francisquito, Barron, Adobe and Matadero creeks and throughout watersheds in other Peninsula communities. The project is a partnership between the City’s Regional Water Quality Control Plant, Acterra and funded, in part, by Santa Clara Valley Water District’s Clean, Safe Creeks & Natural Flood Protection Program.

For more information about the event call 650.329.2598. To learn about the creek closest to you, restoration opportunities, creek level monitoring and more visit Cleanbay.org. Bol Park is located at 3590 Laguna Ave, Palo Alto. Activities will take place near the open fence section and lawn area.
