Palo Alto, CA – The City of Palo Alto's interlibrary loan system – LINK+ - has resumed its services at the temporary Mitchell Park Library, located at 4050 Middlefield Road, following last month’s closure of Main Library for major renovation.

Library customers have access to over 5 million items from a network of more than 40 public and academic libraries in California and Nevada.  To borrow books that are not available through the Palo Alto City Library catalog, users can visit the LINK+ page on the library’s website ( to get started at home or on their next visit to the library. Most items are available for customers in 2 to 5 days.

"The Palo Alto City Library has access to a wide range of items through LINK+," noted Palo Alto Library Director Monique le Conge. “These books can  help complete personal research, satisfy academic needs, and support lifelong learning. This service is one that is popular. People  know it by name and have been eager to have it resume.”

Please note the following:
  • Mitchell Park Library is the only location where LINK+ materials can be picked up and returned.
  • Books on CD and DVDs cannot be requested even though these show up in the results search.
  • If Palo Alto owns the title being requested, the item cannot be borrowed from LINK+ unless the Library’s copy or copies are checked out or unavailable.
Library staff is available to answer any questions and help get customers started. Please call 650-329-2436 or visit for more information.
