Palo Alto, CA -- A man arrested last week by the Milpitas Police Department for bank robbery has now also been charged with robbery in two Palo Alto cases from December 2012 and January 2013.

On Wednesday, March 20, 2013, the Milpitas Police Department arrested 32-year-old San Jose resident Hunter D. Thompson after conducting follow-up investigation into a bank robbery he committed in Milpitas on March 9.  His booking photo from that arrest is attached to this release.

Following the arrest, detectives from the Palo Alto Police Department worked collaboratively with the Milpitas Police Department to conduct additional investigation.  On Wednesday, March 27, 2013, the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office filed two additional counts of robbery against Thompson after our detectives were able to connect him to the armed robbery of the downtown Walgreens store at 300 University Avenue on December 3, 2012, and also to the armed robbery of the Provident Credit Union at 2390 El Camino Real on January 9, 2013.  Details about both of those incidents can be obtained in our press release archive at
