Contact : Elizabeth Ames, Senior Engineer    650-329-2502
Palo Alto, CA – To minimize commute traffic impacts, San Antonio Road will be repaved between Middlefield Road and Highway 101 during the night on Thursday, September 27 and Friday, September 28. Westbound San Antonio will be repaved Thursday night between 9pm and 6am. On Friday night, eastbound San Antonio will be repaved between 9pm and 9am. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times; however, drivers should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes if possible.

In preparation for night work later this week, asphalt grinding on San Antonio Road will occur earlier in the week during daytime hours. No major work is planned for Wednesday, September 26.

Following the repaving, the utility manholes and valves will be adjusted to grade and the final striping will be installed seven to ten days later. After the road rehabilitation is completed, the final construction phase will include new irrigation system, new trees, and landscaping will be installed in October and November.

This project is nearing completion as construction began in November 2011. The project was partially funded by a $900,000 Highway Safety Improvement grant to improve all medians, intersections and roadway conditions.
