PALO ALTO, CA -- On July 24, 2012, at 10:30 p.m., a person was robbed at gunpoint on the bicycle path behind Town and Country Village at 855 El Camino Real. As the victim rode home from work, he was confronted by an armed suspect who demanded the contents of the victim's pockets.

In fear for his safety, the victim complied and handed over his belongings, which consisted of a cellular phone and a small amount of cash. The suspect took the items and fled on foot northbound on the bike path. When he reached Encina Way, he exited the path and ran toward El Camino Real.

The victim called police immediately after the robbery and an extensive search ensued. The suspect was not located. The suspect is described as a black male in his twenties.  He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was of average height and displayed a black handgun.  No injuries occurred during the robbery.
