Coupa Cafe Bike Corral--538 Ramona Street
Palo Alto, CA -- The City of Palo Alto in partnership with Coupa Café is pleased to announce the installation of the City's new Bicycle Corral at 538 Ramona Street.  The Bicycle Corral is the first of its kind in the region and includes innovative "Green Box" pavement treatments with a custom 10-Bicycle Rack.  It also promotes the City’s new Bicycle Parking facility signage standard to encourage biking in Palo Alto.

“If we want people to bike downtown then we need bike parking that is readily available and visible”, says Mayor Sid Espinosa.

Mayor Sid Espinosa and the City Council invite the public to attend a grand opening celebration on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 10:30AM for the bicycle corral where Coupa Café will be providing free coffee and pastries to attendees who ride their bike wearing a helmet.  Coupa Café will continue to offer free coffee to bicycle riders with helmets through August 5th at noon.

The new Bicycle Corral is a recommended bicycle parking standard in the City’s Draft Bicycle & Pedestrian Transportation Plan 2011 that was released on Tuesday, July 26th and available for download through the end of August at:
