Palo Alto, CA – The City will host a community meeting on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, from 7-9 p.m. to discuss the plans for the upcoming expansion and renovation of Main Library. The meeting will be held at the Main Library, 1213 Newell Rd.
Measure N, which was passed by 69.4% of Palo Alto’s voters in November 2008, will fund the expansion and renovation of Main Library. A temporary library at the Cubberley Community Center has opened to provide service while the Mitchell Park Library & Community Center is under construction. The construction at Main Library will begin after the new Mitchell Park Library opens in 2012.
The November 16 meeting will include presentations by architects from Group 4 and City staff. Specific topics for discussion will include the following:
- Updates on the Downtown Library and Mitchell Park Library & Community Center
- Site and floor plans for the expanded and renovated Main Library
