Palo Alto, CA – Palo Alto City Library now offers Career Transitions, a comprehensive online resource for people in every stage of the job search process. Career Transitions provides step-by-step guidance to help job seekers navigate the difficult terrain of today’s changing job market. With a Palo Alto City Library card, customers now have their own free career center in the library, at home, or anywhere they use a computer.

Career Transitions’ self-paced program helps job seekers discover their strengths and occupational interests, explore career possibilities, create a resume, improve their chances with interview advice, find educational opportunities to develop job-related skills, connect with networking opportunities, locate job listings and apply for jobs. Portals for each aspect of the job search provide a clear way to find relevant information about industries, companies, job availability, growth potential, and professional associations. A resume preparation tool guides users through each step with simple explanations to create a finished resume. The personalized experience lets users return to Career Transitions anytime to access their saved information and continue making progress. Career Transitions is available anytime from the Library web site under Resources Online.

“In today’s economic environment, the Library is pleased to provide this valuable one-stop resource to meet the needs of so many customers—whether they are experienced members of the workforce or just beginning their careers,” said Ouida Charles, Library Services Manager.
