Occupied Residence Burglaraized Overnight
Contact : Detective Brian Philip, Palo Alto Police Department    650-353-0624

Palo Alto, CA -- On July 3, 2010, sometime between the hours of 3 a.m. and 6 a.m., a home was burglarized while the occupants slept.

The burglary occurred in the 1500 block of Hamilton Avenue. The unknown suspects entered the residence through an open side window and removed a 50 inch television and other electronics. Presumably, the suspects loaded the property into the family mini-van parked in the driveway and then drove it away. The 1998 tan Toyota Sienna mini-van is still missing. The home had an alarm system that was not activated at the time of the burglary.

This is an unusual burglary in that the suspects entered an occupied home and removed several items without waking the residents.

Palo Alto Police urge residents to take the normal precautions during warm summer evenings by closing windows, activating installed alarm systems, and assuring that exterior lighting and other deterrents are in good working order.

Residents may contact Detective Philip with any information regarding this crime by calling 650-329-2408. Anonymous tips may be sent to paloalto@tipnow.org
