Palo Alto, CA – Are you thinking about finding a job during the summer break, or are you interested in summer volunteer opportunities? If you are a teen entering grades 6-12 and the answer is ‘yes,’ then you should plan to attend "Help Wanted: TEENS," the Library’s free summer employment and volunteer workshop. Our panel of experts will guide you through the search process including job search strategies, the application process, building a resume, the job interview, employer expectations and volunteer opportunities.
When: Wednesday, April 28, 2010, from 3:45-5:15 p.m.
Where: Mitchell Park Library, 3700 Middlefield Road
"Our speakers will include experts in the field of job searching and volunteering," said Laurie Hastings, Teen Services Librarian. Speakers include Bonnie Goodman, career counselor; Heather Shupe, City of Palo Alto Human Resources Administrator; and a representative from Youth Community Service. This workshop is intended to give teens an edge in their search for summer employment or volunteer opportunities.
