Palo Alto, CA - On February 4, 2009, at about 9:30 p.m., Palo Alto police responded to a 9-1-1 call from a female victim who said she was just robbed of her purse. The victim said she was walking through the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot located at 600 Quarry Road when she was approached from behind by an Hispanic female suspect who attempted to push the victim to the ground. The victim turned towards the suspect who began punching the victim in the face several times while attempting to pull the victim's purse from her shoulder. The suspect fled with the victim's purse, heading south across Quarry Road and into the Stanford tree groves.
The suspect is described as an Hispanic female, approximately 25 years old, 5'6" tall and 200 pounds with medium length brown hair. The suspect was wearing a navy blue sweater and dark-colored, tight-fitting pants. The victim sustained injuries including small lacerations to her mouth and cheek, and bruising and swelling. The victim was transported to Stanford Hospital for medical treatment and released.
