Palo Alto Mayor Invites the Public to a State Senate Hearing on High Speed Rail in the Palo Alto Council Chambers on January 21

Palo Alto, CA – City of Palo Alto Mayor Pat Burt invites interested Palo Altans and members of Peninsula communities to attend a State Senate public hearing on High Speed Rail (HSR) on January 21, at 7 PM in the Palo Alto City Hall Council Chambers at 250 Hamilton Avenue. The meeting on HSR is a joint hearing of the California State Senate's Transportation & Housing Committee (chaired by Senator Alan Lowenthal) and the Budget Subcommittee #2 on Resources, Environmental Protection, Energy and Transportation (chaired by Senator Joseph Simitian) and will be hosted by the two senators. Local residents and interested parties are invited to give direct testimony concerning HSR on the Peninsula.

"We hope that everyone with views will attend this important event and speak to these State Senators about how High Speed Rail will effect the communities along the peninsula," said Pat Burt, Palo Alto Mayor and member of the Peninsula Cities Coalition (PCC) on High Speed Rail, which represents Palo Alto, Menlo, Park, Belmont, Burlingame and Atherton.
