Palo Alto, CA -- The City of Palo Alto and the Midpeninsula Community Media Center are co-sponsoring an "Election Night Special" on community Cable Channel 27 from 9:30 to 11 p.m., on November 3, 2009. The event will be broadcast from the Palo Alto City Council Chambers beginning at 9:30 p.m., and will also be streamed live as a webcast on the Media Center's web site.

Hosted by outgoing Palo Alto Mayor Peter Drekmeier who will be joined by former Palo Alto Mayors, Liz Kniss and Gary Fazzino, the experienced trio will interview candidates vying for positions on the City Council and keep tabs on election results as they roll in. The group will also provide analysis of local issues and trends that influence this election, along with coloring the discussion with historical and regional insights. There will also be interviews related to the Palo Alto Business License Tax campaign and analysis of the election results. Ms. Kniss currently serves as a Santa Clara County Supervisor and Mr. Fazzino is Vice President of Government Affairs at Applied Materials and a Palo Alto history buff.
