Police Advise of Traffic Delays for Stanford Football
Contact : Sergeant Dan Ryan, Palo Alto Police Department    408.406.1330
Palo Alto, CA -  Palo Alto police will be out in force this Saturday afternoon along Embarcadero Road and El Camino Realassisting with the expected throngs of motorists travelling to the Stanford - San Jose State football game. The kickoff is set for 6 p.m., so motorists using Embarcadero Road or El Camino Real can expect delays in the area between 4 - 6 p.m., for pregame traffic. Post-game, delays should be expected between 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.

A large turnout is expected this week, so local residents, merchants, and employees should plan their travel accordingly, according to Officer Eric Jensen. Traffic on Embarcadero Road, between El Camino Real and Waverley Street will most likely be switched to a one–way configuration to expedite travel to and from the stadium. Motorists should look for signage and safety cones to delineate the traffic pattern, which will change throughout the evening.

Other games will occur this season on September 26, October 3, October 24, November 7, November 21, and November 28. Traffic advisories will be given for each game.
