    When:  Tuesday, April 28, 2009, 7 p.m.

Where:  Palo Alto High School, Haymarket Theatre, 50 Embarcadero Road

Brian Copeland is a comedian, television and talk radio host, writer and commentator. His bestselling memoir, Not a Genuine Black Man, is based on his long-running, one man show of the same name. Copeland’s family moved to the almost entirely white city of San Leandro in the late 1960s. With often raucous humor and heartfelt passion, he explores the themes of racial identity, isolation and, ultimately, belonging. Not a Genuine Black Man was also the book selection for Silicon Valley Reads 2009, the Santa Clara County community reading program in which the Palo Alto City Library participated.
