Peeping Man Spotted by Alert Citizen
Contact : Agent Dan Ryan    408-406-1330
Palo Alto, CA -  Police credit an alert citizen in the Evergreen neighborhood with the arrest of a peeper who allegedly wandered through several yards last night and looked into the windows of at least a few different victims.

The citizen called police after first seeing the man leaving one of his neighbor's yards, after dark, in the Evergreen neighborhood. The reporting party suspected that something was amiss and he surreptitiously followed the man for several minutes through the Evergreen and College Terrace neighborhoods. He saw the man enter several yards, and peek through some lighted windows, before he returned to his home to summon police.

The anonymous citizen then returned to College Terrace, relocated the peeper and awaited police, who contacted the man without incident. After investigation, patrol officers arrested the subject and charged him with peeping into an inhabited dwelling.

Arrested at 10 p.m., was Ronald John Tinseth, a fifty year-old College Terrace resident. He was interviewed and later booked into the Main Jail in San Jose.

Anyone with information about this case, or any similar incidents, is asked to call Detective Sal Madrigal at 650-329-2558.

Citizens are reminded that they should close their drapes or shutters after dark to ensure their privacy, and that they should immediately call 9-1-1 if they see or hear someone strange in their yards, particularly after dark.
