Man Robs Bank, Flees on Foot

Palo Alto, CA - A man robbed a Wachovia Bank in Palo Alto today and left the scene on foot. The suspect was not apprehended.

On December 12th, 2008 at 4:28 p.m., Palo Alto Police received a call from the Wachovia Bank located at 180 El Camino Real reporting that a robbery had just occurred. The suspect approached tellers and handed them a demand note, was given an undisclosed amount of cash, and left the bank on foot. There were no weapons used.

The suspect was described as a white male adult, approximately 60 years old, with a bushy white beard. The suspect was also missing some of his lower teeth. He was wearing a dark colored baseball cap and a dark colored jacket. The suspect was about six feet tall and weighed 180 pounds. The suspect walked out the south side of the bank and was last seen walking south through the parking lot towards Quarry Road.
