Palo Alto, CA-   Palo Alto police responded to a residential burglary in the 300 block of Poe Street on October 17, 2008, where the time of occurrence was between 10:10 and 11:40 a.m.

A big-screen television and computer were stolen, as were other electronics and jewelry.  Residential burglaries have increased around the City by 42 % this year, compared to the year-to-date figures from 2007, and big-screen televisions are a favorite target.

Witnesses in the area saw a Caucasian male and a Hispanic male subject loading items into a delivery truck equipped with a large cargo box and a rear roll-up door. The rear cargo box had a distinctive, angled blue stripe painted on the sides, and a sketch of the suspect van is above.

Police are seeking information on the vehicle, and ask that anyone who recognizes this distinctive truck to call our anonymous tip line at 650.329.2190. If the van is seen about town, or if any other suspicious vehicles are seen backed into residential driveways, please call 9-1-1 immediately and police will respond.
