Contact : Rose Sebastian, Supervising Librarian    650-329-2478
Palo Alto, CA - A large, diseased eucalyptus tree adjacent to the College Terrace Library has been declared unsafe by the City Arborist and is scheduled for removal Thursday, August 21, and Friday, August 22.  For safety reasons, the building must remain vacant during that time and there will be no access to the site. Depending on how quickly the work progresses, work may continue through Saturday, August 23, requiring the site to remain closed an additional day.

During the closure dates:

  • No library items will be due.
  • Due dates for checked out materials will be extended.
  • Pick up dates for items on hold will be extended.
  • There will be no access to College Terrace book drops; please return items to other branches.
  • There will be no access to Wi-Fi at the College Terrace site.

Copies of three arborist reports about the condition of the tree are available at the College Terrace, Main, Mitchell Park and Downtown libraries.

Visit the Library’s web site at for more information.
