City of Palo Alto Seeks Members for Short-term Web site Review Committee
Contact : Lalo Perez, Director, Administrative Services Department    650-329-2675
Palo Alto, CA -- As part of its ongoing effort to enhance the City of Palo Alto web site and meet the City Council’s civic engagement priority, the City is looking for people interested in serving on a volunteer committee to evaluate the City’s web site. The committee will convene this fall and meet regularly for several months. Work will consist of reviewing the City’s web site and developing recommendations for improvements and future enhancements. The list of recommendations, along with an implementation plan, will be presented to the City Council as the committee’s final work product.

"Over a year ago, the City’s web site design was refreshed and 10,000 pages of content were converted into a content management system," said Lalo Perez, Administrative Services Department Director. "As we move into the next phase of our web site refinements, we’d like to convene a committee to review what aspects of the site work well and what areas need to be enhanced."

The City is looking for interested residents and local business members from the Palo Alto community who represent a broad base of viewpoints to review the web site. Other considerations the City will take into account include experience with technology and web services. People serving on the committee will not be permitted to bid on any related web site work for the City.

People interested in serving on the website committee should contact Lalo Perez, Director of Administrative Services at 650-329-2675 or indicating their interest and qualifications. The deadline for responding is August 29, 2008.
