Palo Alto, CA -- Larry Klein, Mayor of Palo Alto, announced that the City intends to hire Lynda Flores Brouchoud as its new City Auditor. Ms Brouchoud has been working for the City of San Jose for ten years, the last nine in the San Jose City Auditor’s Office. Assuming formal confirmation by the City Council, Ms. Brouchoud will receive a base salary of $156,000 and begin her new duties on September 18, 2008.
"Lynda is a proven leader with strong management skills for developing local government performance auditors and leading program performance audits within the City of San Jose," said Mayor Klein. "Lynda’s prior experience includes the areas of non-profit, accounting and local government, so she brings a breadth of experience to Palo Alto that will be beneficial."
Ms. Brouchoud has led and worked on several high-profile audits for the City of San Jose and her work has been nationally recognized by the Association of Local Government Auditors through its Knighton Award program. Ms. Brouchoud has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley and a Master in Public Policy degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Additionally, she is a Certified Internal Auditor from the Institute of Internal Auditors and a member of the Association of Local Government Auditors.

Ms. Brouchoud and her husband, Tom, are the proud parents of two children, ages 5 and 2.
