Man Shot During Robbery in Downtown Palo Alto

Palo Alto, CA - On July 13, 2008, at 1:45 a.m., Palo Alto Police officers responded to the report of shots fired in the 600 block of Bryant Street. Upon arriving, officers located several witnesses who were friends of the victim. They told police that their friend had been shot moments earlier by an unknown suspect. The victim and his friends were parked next to City Hall waiting to pick up others friends after visiting the downtown bars. A suspect approached the victim who was standing outside of his car. The suspect robbed the victim of some personal items and shot the victim before fleeing south bound on Bryant Street. The victim was transported to Stanford Hospital where is he listed in critical condition.

The suspect is described as a Pacific Islander male approximately 21 years of age, wearing a black beanie cap, black gloves and a black hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information concerning this shooting is encouraged to contact the Palo Alto Police Department at 650-329-2413.
