Robbery at the Downtown Palo Alto Wells Fargo Bank

Palo Alto, CA – Palo Alto police responded to the Wells Fargo bank at 400 Hamilton Avenue at 2:50 p.m., on the report of bank robbery in progress. Officers arrived at the bank and discovered several bank employees and customers who were present during the crime.  Witnesses reported that two black male adults between 25 and 30 years of age entered the bank shouting demands and ordering clerks to fill a bag with money. Both suspects covered their faces and wore dark sunglasses. One suspect waiting near the bank doors wore all dark clothing and a black baseball cap. The second suspect who collected the money wore a brown shirt with light tan stripes, tan khaki pants, brown shoes with tan soles and a brown "KANGOL"® cap. The cap has the emblem of a kangaroo on the back.   

An undisclosed amount of money was stolen and the suspects were last seen fleeing the bank and running south bound on Waverley Street. No weapon was seen during the robbery and no vehicle was associated with the suspects. No one present in the bank was injured.
