New Parking Payment Machine
Contact : Sandra Brown, Sergeant, Police Department    650-704-2930
Palo Alto, CA -- Palo Alto Police Department has added two new One Day Parking Permit machines, in two parking garages in the city. The permit machines, affectionately named "LUKE," are stationed at the Lot S garage in the 400 block of Bryant Street, directly across from the Senior Center, and at the Cowper/Webster parking garage, across from the Garden Court Hotel.

The $15 dollar parking permits allow citizens to park in any City parking garage or City-owned parking lots. The permits cannot be used for on street parking. The LUKE machine accepts only credit card transactions from VISA and MasterCard credit cards. Permits must be clearly displayed on the dash or a citation may be issued.

This one day parking permit is useful for citizens with business who wish to park longer than two hours, perhaps involved in all day training courses or business conferences lasting all day. This permit is also more convenient for construction contractors working in the business districts for long periods of time and for employees of businesses traveling into town from other office locations or outside Palo Alto. The one day parking permit is also ideal for visitors who want to shop and take part in the fine dining experiences in the business areas, where the time would exceed our two hour parking zones limits.

These same one-day parking permits are also sold on the first floor of Palo Alto Civic Center, 250 Hamilton Avenue at the Revenue Collection Counter.
