Palo Alto, CA – After looking at unfavorable weather conditions forecast for Saturday, event organizers have decided to postpone the Sandbag Saturday event scheduled for this weekend in Palo Alto. An alternate date in the near future will be identified.
Sandbag Saturday is an annual event where Palo Alto volunteers come together for a day of filling sandbags and assisting fellow residents who are unable to get sandbags to their homes.
"We’d like to thank everyone who volunteered to help with Sandbag Saturday. As soon as a new date is identified, we will notify existing and potential volunteers," said CERT Coordinator Paul Lufkin.
For those who planned on picking up sandbags at the event, filled sandbags are available at the Palo Alto Airport site. Sand and empty bags are still stocked for "fill your own" sandbags at Greer Park located at Colorado and West Bayshore.
