Palo Alto Fire Department Office of Emergency Services Offers Community Emergency Response Team Training

Palo Alto, CA – The City of Palo Alto Fire Department, Office of Emergency Services (OES) is accepting registrations for the Palo Alto Community Emergency Response Team known as Palo Alto Neighborhood Disaster Activities (PANDA). The class is approximately six weeks. It will take place January 9 through February 7. Both morning and evening sessions still have a few openings.     

"Upon completion of this course, you will have important skills that enable you to respond to the community during a disaster when professional first responders are overwhelmed," says Emergency Manager, Barbara Cimino. 

Classes include hands-on training in Disaster Medicine, Terrorism, Fire Suppression, Light Search and Rescue, and organizational skills, among others. Questions regarding the PANDA program should be directed to Paul Lufkin, PANDA Coordinator, at 650-617-3197.
