Palo Alto Ca. - On November 12, 2007 at 5:30 pm, Palo Alto Police responded to several 911 calls to the rear of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation at 795 El Camino real.  A female victim who was visiting from Taiwan was enjoying a soccer match at the El Camino Ball Park when she was approached by the suspect who offered to show her the area. The victim and the suspect walked along El Camino Real ending up behind the Medical Foundation. The suspect convinced the victim to walk into a secluded area where he grabbed her from behind and held a weapon to her throat.

The victim was able to escape from the suspect who fled the area. The victim described the suspect’s vehicle and was able to create a sketch of the suspect through the use of a police sketch artist.

On November 13, 2007 at 6:30 pm, through the course of the investigation, and the suspect’s license plate number, detectives received a tip from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office that led them to the suspect’s address in Redwood City.  Daniel Arturo Vazquez-Flores, 22 years-old was detained and interviewed at the Palo Alto Police Department where he was arrested for attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. Vazquez-Flores was booked at the San Jose Main Jail.
