PALO ALTO, CA – Police announce a $10,000 reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect responsible for shooting at an occupied vehicle traveling on Embarcadero Road last week.

On Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at around 8:55 a.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a report of a shooting that had just occurred on Embarcadero Road near East Bayshore Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that the male victim in his twenties was stopped in the left turn lane on eastbound Embarcadero Road when a suspect in a vehicle traveling southbound on East Bayshore Road turned right on Embarcadero Road and opened fire on the victim’s vehicle. The suspect shot multiple times hitting the victim’s vehicle and then fled northbound on Highway 101. The victim was uninjured.

Detectives are still actively investigating this crime. They have not determined whether the shooting was targeted or random. The victim described the suspect as a Pacific Islander male in his twenties with dreadlocks wearing a facemask. The passenger in the front seat of the suspect vehicle was described as a female Pacific Islander in her twenties. The vehicle appears to be a red newer model Chevrolet SUV with rear tinted windows, no front license plate, and a temporary rear paper license plate. A still image of the suspect vehicle captured on surveillance is attached to this new release.

Due to the seriousness of the crime, a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect is being offered by Mothers Against Murder, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization based in Los Altos.
