PALO ALTO, CA – Police are searching for the suspect(s) responsible for shooting and killing a man in a parking lot early Tuesday morning. A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in this homicide.
On Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at around 3:02 a.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call from a man who reported he had been shot in the 700 block of San Antonio Road. Police arrived on scene and found an adult male in his fifties lying alone in the parking lot of a business with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Officers immediately began providing medical aid to the victim who was conscious and breathing. Paramedics from the Palo Alto Fire Department took over treating the victim and transported him to a local hospital. He suffered one gunshot wound to the abdomen and underwent surgery, but ultimately passed away from his injuries.
Detectives are actively investigating this crime as a homicide. Crime scene investigators spent the morning processing the scene and collecting evidence. They are also searching for surveillance video in the area. At this point, there is no motive for the case or suspect(s) information to release.
