Palo Alto, CA – Police are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon in the Midtown neighborhood of Palo Alto. The two suspects startled an elderly woman when they entered her home and stole personal property. The suspects are not identified and are at large.

On Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 12:45 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a report of a home invasion robbery that had just occurred in the 900 block of Colorado Avenue.
Police arrived and conducted a search of the neighborhood, but did not locate the suspects.

The investigation revealed that two male suspects entered the residence by kicking in a side door and startled a woman in her seventies who was inside. The suspects demanded personal items including jewelry she was wearing and money. The suspects did not threaten her or display any weapons. After they stole her personal property, they went to the garage and stole her vehicle and fled with it. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Colorado Avenue. The victim was unharmed.

The victim described both suspects as Hispanic, being between 17 to 19 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build, and short dark hair. The first suspect wore a black shirt and black pants. The second suspect wore a light gray hooded sweatshirt and faded red pants. The victim’s vehicle that was stolen is a white 2004 four-door Honda Civic with a California license plate of 5JUD666.

Detectives are actively investigating this case. There is a possibility that the victim will be able to work with a police artist to produce a sketch of the suspects. If that occurs, we will release it as soon as it is available.
