Contact : Sandra Brown, Sergeant, City of Palo Alto, Police Department    650-704-2930
Palo Alto, CA -- Officers from the Palo Alto Police Department have responded to several daytime office burglaries over the past several weeks along Pagemill Road and Hillview Avenue. Suspects are entering the businesses, mostly law firms and high tech companies, and removing laptop computers, credit cards and cash. Suspects are entering the businesses by following legitimate employees through security doors once access cards are used. Suspects then pretend to be employees and steal items from offices and cubicles.

Two suspects have been seen in a few of the above cases. Suspect number one is described as a black male adult, approximately 30 years old, 5’11" tall and 170 pounds. He has been well dressed with short dark hair and a dark complexion. Suspect number two is described as a black male adult, approximately 30 years old, 6’ tall and 210 pounds. He has been well dressed with short wavy dark hair.

The Police Department wants to warn business owners, security personnel and employees to watch who is entering and exiting your establishments. All employees should wear company identification while on premise and unknown subjects should be questioned. Everyone should be aware and vigilant about company security. Each employee should use their own access card and not allow others to piggy-back into the building. Any suspicious persons should be reported to security.

Anyone with information concerning the above theft cases or knowledge about the associated suspects is encouraged to call Detective Aaron Sunseri at 650-329-2669.
