Palo Alto, CA -- The Palo Alto City Library will change its standard lending period from four weeks to three weeks. This returns the library to a previous standard loan period, which was changed to relieve shelving and storage demands during library construction and renovation projects.
“Moving back to a three-week loan period will also reduce the wait times for new and high-demand materials, turn over materials more quickly to improve accessibility, and allow us to better maximize our materials budget,” said Library Director Monique le Conge Ziesenhenne.
This change becomes effective October 1, 2017, and also puts the Palo Alto City Library in line with nearly all other public libraries in our region, allowing better comparison of user data. The total number of items that library patrons are able to check out will not be affected by this change.
