Palo Alto, CA – A woman entered the Star One Credit Union Tuesday morning and, after robbing the business of an undisclosed amount of cash, escaped on foot.

On Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at about 10:20 a.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call from the Star One Credit Union, located at 3903 El Camino Real, reporting that the bank had just been robbed.  Officers arrived on-scene within minutes but were unable to locate the suspect.

The investigation revealed that the suspect entered the bank and, after waiting in line, presented a note to a teller demanding money.  The teller complied with the suspect's demand.  No weapon was seen.  The suspect fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.  She was last seen running eastbound on the 400 block of Ventura Ave.  No suspect vehicle was seen.

Witnesses described the suspect as a heavy-set, black female in her twenties or thirties, standing about 5’10" tall.  She had long, dark hair, and was wearing sunglasses, a light colored blouse, and a black jacket.  A still surveillance image of the suspect is attached to this release.
