Police Investigating Suspicious Death Inside Residence
Contact : Zach Perron, Lieutenant, Police Department    650-329-2413
Palo Alto, CA – Police are actively investigating a suspicious death inside a residence that was discovered on Thursday evening.

On Thursday, July 7, 2016, at about 7:42 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call reporting suspicious circumstances at a residence in the 300 block of Creekside Drive.  Officers responded immediately and found one adult deceased inside the home.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the reporting party was a family member of the decedent, who had gone to the home in an effort to locate the person and discovered their body inside.  Initial evidence at the scene indicated that the death was suspicious in nature.  Police have no suspect information.

As a result of evidence located at the scene, officers did not conduct an active search for any suspects in the neighborhood.  At this time, the manner of death (homicide or suicide) is not known.  Detectives will be seeking a search warrant to allow them to conduct a full search of the residence, and the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner will be summoned to the scene to begin their investigation.

Police are not releasing any information on the victim (including gender or age) at this time.  The investigation is active, ongoing, and in its infancy.  We will release additional information as it becomes available.

A portion of the 300 block of Creekside Drive will remain closed while the crime scene is processed by investigators.  That processing may very well last into the afternoon hours.
