During her more than two years at the Cupertino Library, Gayathri developed positive relationships with various Cupertino City Staff, Library Commission, Friends of the Library, Cupertino Library Foundation, schools and other local organizations, local media, library staff, and residents. Her successful projects included the Cupertino Library 10th Anniversary celebration attended by 4300+ people, a very successful all-night Teen Hack-a-thon event at the library, revamping S4 (Super Summer Science Searches) into a STEAM based yearly activity, partnering with Bluelight Cinemas and Cupertino Library Foundation to offer movies and plays at the Bluelight Cinemas, supporting outreach and fundraising activities with the Cupertino Library Foundation, and designing and executing partnership programs and outreach events at local schools and festivals. Gayathri was on the executive planning group of the city’s Master Plan project, which included an expansion of the library’s Story Room.

Gayathri has served as a Community Librarian at the Saratoga Library, a Supervising Librarian of Adult and Teen Services at the Cupertino Library, a systemwide Collection Development and Second Level Reference Librarian, and a Teen Services Librarian at the Cupertino Library. Her successful projects included creating a Local Government Resource Center with the City of Saratoga, support outreach and fundraising activities with the Friends of the Saratoga Libraries, and outreach and advocacy presentations with the Saratoga Library Commission. She also previously worked for the Santa Clara City Library and the Mountain View Public Library. Gayathri was a 2010 Fellow of the prestigious California Eureka! Leadership Institute.

Gayathri fills this position as the result of a nationwide recruitment effort and will be located at Rinconada Library.
