Palo Alto, CA – A man who used a cell phone to snap a picture of a woman in her own bathroom over the summer was arrested by police earlier this week.

On Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at about 6:30 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a suspicious circumstances call from a residence in the 400 block of Grant Avenue that had occurred about three hours earlier.  The victim, a woman in her fifties, reported that she had just taken a shower in her bathroom and had gotten dressed when she noticed a cell phone outside her window, pointed in at her.

Patrol officers conducted an investigation that night and were able to identify the suspect as 22-year-old Norbu Norbu of Palo Alto.  Police obtained a statement from the suspect that same night, and submitted the case to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office for review.  On September 22, the District Attorney’s Office filed one misdemeanor charge of peeping against the suspect.  On Monday, October 5, at about 12:11 p.m., the suspect turned himself in at the police station.  Officers booked him into the Santa Clara County Main Jail pursuant to the warrant.  A booking photo of the suspect is attached to this release.

While there was a similar case reported to police from the 300 block of Olive Avenue on June 12, 2015, at about 10:00 p.m., there is nothing connecting this suspect to that case.  That case remains under investigation by detectives.
